Natural Park of Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli

A few km from Marina di Massa, in the hinterland of Versilia and Pisa-Livorno coastline, is a natural area of incredible environmental value: the Park of Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli.

Established in 1979, the park covers about 24,000 hectares along the northern Tuscany coast separating the beach from inland villages. Although located in the center of very urbanized area, the nature of this green area has remained unspoiled and has a wide variety of environments. It goes from the wetland of Lake Massaciuccoli to the Pinewood of San Rossore, from the wild sand dunes to the private beaches.

The park is ideal for excursions throughout the year. It is in fact crossed by many trails and dirt roads that are well suited to mountain biking, running and horse-riding.
Therefore perfect both for sports and for spending a few hours in close contact with nature. It is also very popular in summer, when the heat of the sun becomes more intense forcing tourists to take shelter in the shade of the trees.

The Natural Park of Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli is also rich in animal and plant species. There you will see numerous wild boar, deer, foxes, porcupines, squirrels.
Besides the already mentioned Massaciuccoli Lake, the main attractions of the park are the WWF Oasis of Tirrenia, the Bourbon Villa and dunes of San Rossore.
