At the foot of the Pizzo d'Uccello, opens up the "buca" (hole) and the caverns of Equi: a vast karst formation complex developed throughout the milleniums by the erosion caused by water, thus creating cavities, tunnels, salt, stalactites and stalagmites that are particularly evocative. In front of the Buca, rises a museum that allows the visitor to the observe the antique past of the territory of the Apuanian Alps and of the Lunigiana.
Equi Terme owes its name to the thermal spring rich of sulfurous water, that has been well known since ancient times. For those interested in benefits of thermal therapy there is an establishment uphill of the town.
